T-E-A-M Protocol: An IPEC-based Lesson Plan (Beta Version)
The "T-E-A-M Protocol" is 4-step team meeting process that will facilitate interprofessional collaboration in the clinics, wards, and community health centers during team meetings or PTCs. Any health science professional, medical doctor, or health/social/school team member can use it without a sweat.
T-E-A-M Protocol means:
=== TELL your professional role to the team.
EXPLAIN your own observations and assessments.
AGREE on a collective plan for the team.
MOVE as a team as you provide care delivery. ===
The protocol is a by-product of a recent study I did where I investigated the attitudes of 188 Filipino occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech-language pathologists towards interprofessional collaboration using the "Attitudes towards Health Care Team Scale [ATHCTS]" (full article will be released in a few weeks in the Journal of Interprofessional Care).
The T-E-A-M Protocol will have its debut as a health care team strategy idea at the Association for Medical Education in Europe Conference (AMEE) 2017 in Helsinki, Finland. I am looking forward to sharing this idea with more health science, medical, and clinical teachers around the world.
